Heart Sweaters
Love this little heart sweater from Old Navy, perfect for a casual Valentine’s day outfit to wear to work! I’ve been so inspired by all the hearts around, I can’t get enough! I even wore some heart shaped glasses the other day- but you’ll have to wait to see them until next time!
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Boots
My mom bought me these boots when I was still in high school. I didn’t really wear heels to school and I never had a perfectly matching brown to wear with them, my medium brown items from A&F were too cool-toned and the only other brown stuff was chocolate brown and I just wasn’t comfortable enough with my own fashion sense yet to go mixing browns. Anyway, they sat worn once or twice in my closet for about three years until I moved in with my bff. She saw me try them on with numerous outfits and ultimately decide again and again that they weren’t right, or that another shoe was better somehow. So, after a while she started asking to borrow them, and they always looked so great on her. Eventually when she moved out she had to part with them because I wasn’t really ready to give them up myself. The following christmas she sent me a purse of hers that I had always envied, and I was elated. Out of the corner of my eye I could see the boots and knew what I had to do; I sent them to her as her christmas gift, with a note that said, “Whenever or if-ever, you get tired of wearing them, send them back. to me.” She of course was ecstatic! These boots saw her through a lot of fabulous outfits and amazing memories, but slowly she matured out of them. Recently she moved back to LA and brought them with her. A perfectly worn pair; just stretched enough to be comfortable, but still supple and shiny, they still look amazing. The boots are no longer her style but they fit my evolving style perfectly. I have fallen in love with them all over again, and even more deeply this time around. I can’t wait for the adventures and outfits ahead for these boots!
P.S. My hat goes off to the Jessica Simpson Footwear line- I wear Jessica Simpson shoes a lot, and they last forever, they are incredily comfortable and her styles are timeless, nobody would know these were from 6+ years ago.
