Lake Mead

As many of you saw on Instagram I visited Lake Mead last week, and it was stunning! I always assumed Lake Mead was some small, dirty little pond-esq hole in the ground- I never assumed it’d be so big, so blue and clear and I had no idea it was the high side of The Hoover Dam! When we came around the bend toward the dam I got chills, the stature and scale was awesome in every sense of the word. I wish we could have gone closer, but even though the water was super low (you can see the usual water line on the rocks) there was a “Do Not Cross” line pretty far back. I love these photos in black & white because the vintage Guess? shorts I’m wearing remind me of old Guess? Girls or of old 1950’s pictures of Marilyn…. I can’t wait to spend more time on Lake Mead now that I know how beautiful it is!

P.S. Please don’t litter- I saw so much litter and it broke my heart, in Seattle nobody litters, I guess I’m used to it in LA… I was so amazed to see how beautiful Lake Mead was and then that the visitors weren’t respecting it- it broke my heart! Like I Always say: Littering is Trashy.
