Inkkas Shoes

I love authenticity, bright colors, and giving back to the planet (among other things) so when Inkkas approached me to try out their sneakers I was into it. I’m not much of a sneaker girl (a little more lately though) so if I opt out of my usual heels for some tenni-shoes, chances are, they’re rad. I love the bright colors, the pattern and how they’re actually made in South America, by South American’s who earn a fair wage. They’re even made using authentic South American textiles and a portion of all sales go toward protecting the Amazon Rainforest. I don’t mean to be a hater or a hypocrite, I really have no room to talk because you all see me wear clothes from brands who have been accused of poor labor practices, but I do what I can to make up for it in small ways. None of us are perfect, but if we can swap out one purchase of shoes from a company who harms the world for a pair of shoes from a company who helps the world, hey, it’s a step in the right direction- no pun intended. (Especially when the shoes are this rad, it’s a no-brainer.) Oh, and one of the reasons I rarely wear sneakers or flats of any kind is because they hurt my feet- usually pinching my toes… these are super comfy; they could possibly be the most comfortable pair of shoes I own now.

By the way, this post reminds me of a favorite line of mine from the movie Fight Club:

“I had it all. Even the glass
dishes with tiny bubbles and imperfections,
proof they were crafted by the honest,
simple, hard-working indigenous peoples of
wherever.”

Six Twenty

Also loving this perfect V-neck T-shirt from Six Twenty (VIXX). You may have noticed the tattoo on the back of my neck in some posts, it says IVXX (Four Twenty) which is my birthday and my fathers birthday- yes we share. No, I didn’t want it to be CDXX which means four hundred twenty (420) I wanted it to be four-twenty like a date… like my birthdate 4/20. And guess what? The owner of Six Twenty’s birthday is June 20th (6/20) we hit it off right away after bonding over this fun coincidence, great minds right? Anyway…. what I love about the brand is this: we all need basics, also called “essentials” because thats what they are… those pieces in your closet that work with everything, work alone, work hard, and for a long time. I have mentioned it before, but I am in ever constant search for perfect white blouses (t-shirts included) and at a decent price so I can stock up on them. Generally the t-shirts I find that I am madly in love with are $90, but for me, that’s not practical. Therefore, I am used to buying my T’s at Target or Forever 21, but they don’t last, they’re not soft, and yes, they’re $5-$9 but they’re being replaced 5X as often- plus they usually rub on my armpits… not cool. The way Six Twenty brings you a luxurious t-shirt you’d normally pay $90 for for only $25 is that they cut out all the middle men. All the extra handling, shipping, receiving, stocking, and profit margin increases… all gone. They’re internet only so the product goes from the factory to you, for a low cost, and because everything leaves the owner and goes strait to you, the quality check is there too. I highly recommend trying them out… Thank me later.

P.S. My short shorts were a little too short for my comfort so I grabbed some complimentary bright booty shorts for underneath, what do you think!? Would you ever try this?

P.P.S. Congratulations to Celeste Wilcox for winning my Famous Footwear Giveaway!

With love from Hollywood,
Kier
