The Columbia River Gorge

I am so lucky to be from such a gorgeous place. We were on our way to the city nearby and this view just seamed like a perfect background for some photos. I got this coat at Value Village in Kirkland for $13. I swear that place has some great stuff. Because the hood is detachable I just detached the hood, washed the coat and only dried the hood on low heat for a cycle just to make sure there wasn’t anything living in it! Obviously I need to have it cleaned professionally when I get back to LA, but in the mean time as long as your vintage piece doesn’t have a really weird smell (which you probably wouldn’t buy to begin with) this is a great trick to feel a little more secure in a vintage coat if you want to wear it right away. I know it’s a little big, but when you’re wearing layers and layers, it’s nice to have some room to move- plus the drawstring at the waist keep it from looking too huge and shapeless. And what a fabulous color right? This forest green is stunning, I can’t wait to wear this on the mountain skiing next year! BTW, it was actually super cold when we shot these pictures, just in the short time it took, my hands were so stiff I could barely click the buttons on the camera to go through the photos!

I fly back home to LA tomorrow and I have four events back to back wednesday, thursday, friday, and saturday! I can’t wait to get busy!

With love from Hollywood Washington,
Kier

  1. Awesome find! Wish we had Value Villages here! I think the closest one in LA is in Montebello or something- not nearby. These photos are really lovely- great post!
