How to wear black and navy:

For Thanksgiving, I went home to visit my family and this is what I wore on one of my many travel days. I wanted to wear my hat because I worry about it becoming misshapen in my bag but also this heavy coat because it’s honestly so heavy I thought it would put my bag over weight. Some people follow the archaic rule of not wearing black and navy but honestly I love this combo. My general rule of how to wear black and navy is to make sure the metals coordinate, I probably wouldn’t wear them with a bunch of bright gold and silver jewelry. Keep it moody with gray or add white to brighten it up a little, and if you’re lucky like me, find navy with black metal hardware which takes the guessing out of whether they “go” or not.
