Seven Magic Mountains:
While in Las Vegas this week, I made the short trip to Seven Magic Mountains. The display is along Las Vegas boulevard just southwest of Las Vegas. The seven towers of stacked and painted boulders named “Seven Magic Mountains” is an art installation by artist Ugo Rondione. It’s a temporary two-year display which will be removed May of 2018. The boulders were all sourced locally and painted “dayglow” colors to not only highlight the art, but also the surroundings. The installation was produced by New York Art Fund which also produced Prada Marfa (NYAF’s only permanent display.)
I had seen many photos of the display and I knew I wanted to visit. One of the things I love about fashion is that I can change my look and vibe in an instant and I love to reflect what I’m doing and where I’m going with my outfit. These Kat Maconie heels and Milly dress together are literally made for one another- they even both feature thick black zippers up the backs. Because it’s cold right now in Las Vegas I added this shearling coat and a designer inspired bag I plan to paint. Black tights and turtleneck to tie everything in and add extra warmth.
P.S. Check out the artist below discussing his work.
