LA Frock Stars Premiere Party
Last week I attended the LA Frock Stars premiere party. LA Frock Stars is a new reality series on The Smithsonian channel that centers around Doris Raymond and her Vintage wonderland The Way We Wore. The store is located in the heart of Los Angeles on S. La Brea Ave. I’ve been to The Way We Wore and was enchanted. Considering the quality of the product there, the price point is accurate, and if you are in need of something specific for a shoot, event, or otherwise, it’s the perfect place to go.
I love the hunt, and the thrill of getting something amazing for pennies so you’ll usually find me at places like The Goodwill or Fairfax Flee Market, but I’ve been known to study The Way We Wore and their fabulous pieces to get an idea of what I should look for in vintage items. Now however, I’m in heaven because LA Frock stars takes out all my guess work. As someone who is totally obsessed with vintage clothing, watching this new show is like watching a treasure hunt that educates you at the same time. And, unlike other reality shows, there is no petty drama. One of the things I love about Fashion Blogging, is that it’s so positive, I rarely get a rude comment, most always it’s a supportive, uplifting, and complimentary environment. And LA Frock Stars is that way, at the premiere they showed the first episode and the whole cast, just looks like they love what they do, and they love vintage fashion as much as I do. I hope by watching this season I can learn at least some of this dream team’s knowledge and secrets.
At the event I got to meet Doris Raymond, (wearing Sophie of Saks) and she was so sweet, she gave me the most lovely compliment on my outfit, which of course made my night. I dressed in mostly all vintage of course, and was loving the other attendees outfits, I snapped one photo above of a woman leaving, and I was so obsessed with her look, the coat and heels were just perfection. Thank you Doris for your sweet words, and to Kristin at Elle Communications for inviting me. Thank you also to LACMA, and The Smithsonian channel for the amazing gift we received- this book is amazing!
With love from Hollywood,
