The Sweater and Shorts Trend

Okay, I am obsessed with this sweater and shorts outfit… I can see myself recreating this in every color with every oversized sweater I own. I got lucky thrifting one day and found this incredible French Connection vintage floral sweater. It fits, and it’s in amazing condition, but it’s a little shapeless if you know what I mean.. So, what better way is there to sexy up a giant, floral, girlie sweater than with short, short, controversial- upside down cross- studded shorts? Topped with my athletic scarf from Lulu Lemon (ultra soft fabric, moisture wick technology, “I’m a trendy gym person”, $40-for-a-scarf-I-sweat-in-pretentious, buttons-in-lots-of-ways convertible, kind of scarf) it’s a complete mash up…¬†I know these pieces separately may seem like they’ll be an odd pairing, but the monochromatic aesthetic, and classic textures make it work. (And it matches my blog right?! lol)

Also, I have a little collaboration coming up with¬†Omen Eye!!¬†It’s still far off, but go check out the store, and get very excited, you’re going to die over this collaboration piece!!

The best hair stylist in Los Angeles

I’ve been talking about it… here it is.. the first step toward going back to my natural blonde hair color.. I’ve been box coloring it brown-black for almost four years, and the color is really set in there.. So Garidey and I decided to test out the hair, and see how it would react to a subtle highlight and some ombre pieces.. I think it turned out great for the first time… it’s nowhere near done, but it’s a fabulous start. I had no breakage, and the mask she put on my hair made it feel better, even after the bleach, than before we started! I’ve been going to Garidey for five years and she is AMAZING- especially with blonde color. I was referred to her by a friend in a desperate attempt to salvage my hair after visiting a beauty school. I’m serious, the first time I met Garidey she literally fixed the worst hair of my life- a cut that was already too short- so I was nervous about any more coming off at all, and color that was splotchy and brassy. She whipped up the color, and laid the foils faster, and with more precision than anyone I’d ever seen, then after the rinse she gave me the most adorable cut. The first haircut Garidey gave me was the best haircut I’d had in 10 years. It’s the worst feeling to dislike your hair, and I knew that feeling all too well.. I swear, a cut by her is a religious experience, you feel reborn as you walk to your car, hair swaying and heads turning. Garidey never takes too much off, and she listens to exactly what I want.. which, let’s face it, is what everyone wants in a stylist.. The best part though, is that she is the type of girl you want to be friends with..¬†¬†So, if you live in the LA area and you are in need of a hair stylist I HIGHLY reccomend her- Just be sure to tell her I sent you! And even if you don’t live in this area, you get to watch step by step as she transforms me from black to blonde! Follow me on Pinterest to see my hair inspiration on my Beauty Addict Board!

With love from Hollywood,
