Morganite
Recently I found a beautiful ring on Pinterest, it was set in rose gold and the stone matched the hue perfectly. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll remember me posting that photo. After some research, I discovered that the stone was Morganite. I fell in love with the gem and read all about its origin and properties. I found out that Morganite was discovered in California by George Fredrick Kunz the chief gemologist of Tiffany & Co. and was originally named Kunzite but Kunz suggested they change the name to Morganite to honor their most valued customer, JP Morgan. It’s also been suggested they change the name to “Pink Emerald” but Morganite has stuck, unfortunately.. (I vote for Kierite but whatever.)
Facts
Morganite is a form of Beryl which is in the same family as aquamarine and emerald. Found in Afghanistan, Brazil, China, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe and the USA (California and Maine) it is actually uncommon and considered a rare gem. Morganite is generally a rose color of pink like my ring but can be more salmon or pinkish-purple as well. Larger stones bear the most brilliant colors.
Metaphysical Properties
With its gentle pink energy, Morganite attunes to the heart and the Heart Chakra. It cleanses the emotional body of stress and anxiety, old wounds and hidden traumas, and enkindles lightness within the spirit as if a burden has been lifted. It brings in the frequency of Divine compassion, inspiring the awareness that life’s suffering and pain served a higher purpose in our spiritual growth, and can be a catalyst for moving forward with peace and confidence.
This crystal also attracts the abundance of love into one’s life and assists in maintaining that love as it continues to grow. It encourages loving thoughts and actions, consideration and responsibility, and being receptive to love from others. As a crystal of the heart, it may be used to attract one’s soul mate or in deepening a current relationship. It inspires joy and reverence for life and increases the opportunities which allow one to experience the unconditional love of the Divine.
Physically, Morganite eases symptoms associated with chest ailments such as emphysema and asthma. It may help with heart palpitations, thyroid problems, and nervous system disorders.
Mentally it can help those coping with change, needing an emotional release, struggling with forgiveness, motivation, stress, releasing of toxic people and situations, self-acceptance, self-love and depression.
My Ring
Obviously, Morganite can benefit almost anyone, plus it looks pretty! I got this ring as a surprise from my love and since then we have become stronger and stronger. While in New Orleans for Halloween we were exploring the city and I saw this ring in a shop window. We went in to take a closer look and I fell in love. The ring fit perfectly and it’s an extremely high-quality stone so he sprung and got it for me. I can’t stop staring at it or wearing it. I love how it’s luxurious but not too flashy, perfect for wearing every day.
P.S. This room is the room my parent shared on their wedding night! There aren’t a lot of hotel options where I’m from haha!
