The Red Dress

I was super excited to partner with InLoveWithFashion.com for this post. When I was looking though their selection I saw some really fabulous and versatile pieces. But then I stopped at the sight of this pretty dress.. Starting a fashion blog has pushed me to evolve my style and go beyond my comfort level and where as I used to never wear red, I’ve recently (this last year) started to finally incorporate red into my wardrobe. I chose this dress because it was time… You see, I have never had a red dress as an adult; the last time I wore a red dress was in second grade when I was 6. I had my first crush and it was Valentines Day. I wore my red satin dress which donned a collar and button-down front and a subtle poinsettia embossment… yeah I had gotten it for the Christmas recital earlier that school year. Anyway, I leaned up against the wall and pulled my knees up toward my chest propping myself up across from my crush, suddenly the teacher pulled me out into the hall quickly and explained that I needed to sit in a more ladylike manor while wearing a dress and it hit me that, I was so enthralled, I totally didn’t notice I was flashing the entire class my underpants.. I was so humiliated. It still to this day is pretty much the most embarrassing moment of my life, and that’s the last time I ever wore a red dress. So, receiving this dress in the mail, I secretly wished that something would be wrong with it, “Maybe it’ll be too small, or fit weirdly, or be way too short and I’ll need to wear it with jeans” I thought. When I finally got the package I fluttered inside (I know I get way too emotional over clothes). I pulled it out and tried it on, perfect. The stitching is great, the bows are securely attached, the fabric feels luxe, and when Roger came into the room he said “Wow” which relieved any anxiety I still had lingering. This website, inlovewithfashion.com, this dress, has marked a (small but significant) milestone in my life, and I can’t wait to wear it with a big hat and espadrilles to the races this summer! How cute will that be!! Thank you so much InLovewithFashion.com!  :)

With love from Hollywood,
Kier

  1. You look stunning in red! You should wear it more often! Also if that is the most embarrassing thing to happen to you consider yourself very lucky :)
