Color Block Mermaid ~ How to Color-block for Summer

Peplum Colorblock top: Forever 21, Skirt: BCBG, Shoes: BCBG (love these too),
Bag: Calvin Klein (similar style on sale here & love this one too),
Jewels (from left to right):  Forever 21, Ross, Arclight Gift Shop,
Ross, Forever 21, Vendor in Mexico, Forever 21, Express.
Shades: Kate Spade, Water: Fiji
Couple things about this outfit.. it seams like a relatively expensive look, but the skirt was purchased at Nordstrom Rack for 60% off normal retail value, the shoes and bag at Ross, both for 50% off. I wouldn’t really call my self a budget shopper, because well, I love nice things and I will spend money on something that I really want. I believe that, not always, but often, more expensive things are better quality. You can feel the difference in leather, and see the strait stitching in a nice bag, and I want quality. That being said, if I can get the same thing for a lot less, I will. This outfit would have cost upwards of $300 MORE if I hadn’t shopped around a little.Another thing I wanted to mention about this look, is that peplums have always reminded me of mermaids’s tails and these colors definitely remind me of kind of an ombre of color blocking of the ocean… and what takes me to the ocean? Summer. ¬†(I guess the peplum could even be a wave.. )
